About the FAA:
Flight inspection became an aviation requirement back in 1932 once the air route between New York and San Francisco was fully established. Oklahoma City has held the spotlight as the FAA’s central training ground and program administration unit since the 1960’s. You can read more about the FAA’s aviation history here.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Operations Support Office in Oklahoma is one of six field offices in the United States, that ensure standards and certification for all international navigational aids and instrument flight procedures. It is also the location of the Oklahoma City Flight Inspection Office (FIFO) which performs flight inspections for the Southwest and Midwest regions of America.
